The ‘toughest footrace on earth’, temperatures reaching 50°C, six-marathons’ worth of running, blisters, burns, hallucinations, tears, blood and an awful lot of sweat – it’s hard to see why anyone would want to attempt the Marathon des Sables in Morocco.
But yet, inspired by a meeting with a former competitor, and driven by wanting to help the incredible Running Charity, that is what Chris Carter is doing – aged 50.
